Safety

Talk openly. Stay in control.

Talking with a stranger takes trust. Here's what Loud am does to protect you, and what you can do at any moment.

  • Conversations are not recorded

Voice conversations are not recorded by the platform. Audio travels directly between your two browsers, or through a relay server when a direct path isn't possible, and is never stored.

  • Anonymous by design

We never ask for your email, phone number or photo. Other people only see your username, your illustrated avatar and the conversations you publish.

  • A private room for two

Only the two people in a conversation can enter its room. Nobody else can listen in, and the room closes when the conversation ends.

  • You choose who you talk to

Use ask to join to read short notes and pick the person yourself. Connections only happen when both of you agree, and nobody else can see them.

If something feels wrong

Leave

You can leave any conversation instantly. You never owe anyone an explanation.

Block

Once you block someone, you won't see each other on Loud am again. They can't join or ask to join your conversations, and any connection between you ends.

Report

Report someone during or after a conversation, or from their request. You can block them at the same time. Reports are kept for moderation and the person is never told who reported them. You can report:

  • Harassment or bullying
  • Hate speech
  • Threats or violence
  • Sexual content
  • Inappropriate behaviour
  • Pretending to be someone else
  • Spam or scams

Keep yourself safe

  • Don't share your full name, address, phone number, workplace or money details.
  • Never send money or gift cards to someone you met here.
  • Keep your recovery key private. Anyone who has it can sign in as you.
  • Like any voice call, a direct connection means the two devices exchange network addresses to reach each other. Loud am never shows them on the site.
